i'm so sad i cannot remember anything about this wonderful early 90s (estimated) pop punk song except that it quotes the stuart smiley motto in its chorus:"because i'm good enough, and i'm smart enough, and goshdarnit, people like me!"analyse all you want i'm just dying to identify the song and or artist. google has failed me. other search engines pale in comparison to even googles limited help. SO I BEG OF YOU! DONT GIVE UP! HELP ME SEARCH AND WRACK YOUR BRAINS!<3 thanks so much for any effort you make to aid in my quest. i will not die happy until i can remember this or find the mixtape it was on.
It’s after 2 and I am all aloneShe appeared, said she’ll get me homeWe end up lost inside an urban mazeAnd then she says her house is on the wayI should leaveIt’s time to go back home nowI should leaveYou’re too young for meShe has a man, says he’s just a boyShe won’t bite unless it brings you joyI don’t know where all the time has goneI don’t know where all the years have goneI should leavePut your clothes back on nowI should leaveYou’re too young for meI should leaveIt’s time to go back home nowI should leaveYou’re too young for meYou’re too young for meYou’re too young for me
wow what a lovely idea for a community. i've decided to post some Caravan lyrics, not because i think they're particularly ambigious, but because they are so evocative. i think in all of Caravan' songs they seem to construct this slightly off- kilter world, their imagery and expression is just perfect. its the kind of thing that just takes you to another place for a few minutes. i love the contrast between the "reality" of the first verse and the "fantasy/stonedness" of the second.hope you like it too.Caravan - In The Land Of Grey And PinkIn the land of Grey and PinkWhere omly boyscouts stop to thinkThey'll be coming back againThose nasty grumbly grimliesThey're coming down your chimneyYes, they're trying to get ingoing to take your moneyIsn't it a sinThey're so thinThere's black buckets in the skyDon't leave your dad in the rainCigarettes burn bright tonightThey'll all get washed down the drainSo we sail away for just one dayTo the land where the punk weed growsYou won't need any money, just fingers and ye toesAnd when it's dark a boat will pass in the land of Walburn(?)GreenTake a fill of punkweed and smoke it till ye bleed, that's all we'll needSailing back in morning lightWe'll wash our feet in the seaAnd when the day gets really brightWe'll go to sea drinking tea.
Hi! I just joined the community, principally because I'm really lousy at analysing anything... It'd be nice to read what sort of things others can make out of stuff that says little or nothing to me. After three years of trying to analyse poetry I don't think I can become any better than this, but I suppose there's always hope. e.e;Currently I'm in search for new music to listen to, one of the cds I loaned is Matchbox Tewenty's "Yourself or Someone Like You"( 3 AM by Matchbox Twenty (and very few ideas of mine)Collapse )
post your favorite Jeff Buckley lyricand, go!
i hope a lot of people join. thank you for creating this community, i've been looking for one just like it.
